Photo Oct 31, 1 35 21 PM (1)I do not take Halloween lightly.  Choosing what you are going to be on Halloween is a decision that can make or break the rest of your holiday season.  After thinking long and hard on what the best thing you could possibly be for Halloween is I have come up with the perfect thing to be this Halloween; yourself.

I think back to early in my career when I was introduced to the giants of the fitness industry.  They were and still are people I respect, admire and emulate.  I remember how bad I wanted to be them, how much I wanted to follow their exact journey and do exactly what they were doing in their career.

I spent so much time trying to be them and follow their path that I forgot to be myself and follow my own.

A major key to successes to surround yourself with those more talented and successful than yourself, people that can be mentors or somehow aid in your growth and development.  It is normal to admire them and want to achieve the level of success they have but that journey becomes more challenging when you stop trying to learn from them and start trying to be them.

They are who they are and rose to where they are because of their unique gifts, personalities, skills, personal outlook on life and courage to seize opportunities.  You can’t run someone else’s race no matter how hard you work of how much you want it, in the end it just leads to frustration and failure.

This Halloween I encourage you to be yourself.  Value that you have unique skills and gifts and that your personality and way of viewing the world will also lead to numerous opportunities for growth, challenge and success.  Run you own race, embrace who you are and what makes you special.  Learn from those you admire but always look how you can apply their teachings to your situation, don’t look to them to create your dreams.  You will never be able to be them but on the same token they will never be able to be you.  There is only one you, no one else can do what you do the way you do it.  Embrace that idea and move forward with confidence that no one can be you and that is one of your biggest assets to achieving your goals and dreams.

The most important thing in life is to always be yourself.

Unless you can be Batman.

Always be Batman.
